In 1858, a railroad depot station was built in town in Kneeland, Indiana. Then, railroads were the main form of long distance transportation and people took pride and time for each trip. Passengers had time to sit and visit the depot while waiting for their train to depart. Meanwhile, most house wives were home preparing by hand their lovingly meals of fresh foods.

The old depot, painstakingly taken down in Indiana and reassembled piece by piece in Sarasota, is where you now sit. After much vocation the depot looks much as it once did nearly 150 years ago.
